God has confidence in us. He gives us the power of private
judgment. He makes us free moral agents so that we can do what we want to
do—even contrary to His will. That is a big God. If God were a little God, He
would tell us exactly what to do. But He leaves us free. Still He hopes we are
smart enough to do right.
